Terminix agrees to lease 50 Cryonite units for its commercial branches in the US, and will introduce the technology at a food industry trade show later this month.

CTS Technologies deploys its patented Cryonite non-toxic pest control technology in the US after securing an agreement with Terminix for the initial leasing of 50 units for its commercial branches in the US.

Terminix, the world’s largest pest control and termite company, is to introduce Cryonite to the US market at a food industry trade show later this month.

Stefan Hansson, chief executive of CTS, said:  “This agreement with Terminix is another significant validation of our Cryonite technology, which has proven to be a safe, efficient and highly effective pest control method. Securing a distribution deal in the US also marks an important milestone for a company with global ambitions, as Cryonite technology is now being used on three continents: North America, Europe and Asia.”

Mike Ostier, vice-president of commercial services at Terminix, said: “The use of Cryonite further reinforces our commitment to integrated pest management programs and we believe that Cryonite also adds a lot of value to a significant segment of our customer base.”

Cryonite is used primarily in the food processing and manufacturing and hotel industries. The technology uses dry-ice (CO₂) snow produced by a special nozzle to achieve rapid cooling. The snow kills all life stages of insects, is poison-free, and brings substantial benefits to end customers as their premises do not need to be evacuated and production of foodstuffs can continue during treatment.

Terminix is the largest termite and pest control company in the world, safeguarding over 1.9 million homes and businesses against all types of pests in 45 U.S. states and in 14 countries internationally. In 1986, Terminix joined The ServiceMaster Company, one of the largest and most successful service companies in the USA with system-wide revenue in excess of $7.7 billion.
